Il avait déjà annoncé la couleur aves son remix de Justice - Valentine resté dans le top 20 des tracks les plus populaires en septembre 2008 sur Hype Machine.
Sorti de Brooklyn, MR. VEGA n'a pas l'intention de nous laisser dormir le week end et enchaîne des remix de qualité.
Vous avez pu entendre Ladyhawke - Back of the van (MR. VEGA rmx) sur le CMC vol.9 et on se relève pour Phoenix - 1901 dernier sorti sur son Myspace.
Bientôt un Ep pour ce très bon producteur qui peut d'ors et déjà nous compter parmi ses fidèles.

He had already announced the colour with his remix of Justice - Valentine, stayed in the top 20 most popular tracks in September 2008 on Hype Machine.
Coming from Brooklyn, MR. VEGA doesn't intend to let us sleep during the week end and keep up with high quality remixes.
You were already able to hear Ladyhawke - Back of the van (MR. VEGA rmx) on the CMC vol.9 and we get up again for Phoenix - 1901 rmx recently available on his Myspace.
Soon an Ep for this very good producer who can already consider us among his faithful fans.
It's loud, that moves, we want it.

1- Whats new ?
Whats been going on with me recently is I've been working a lot on my own stuff. I want to put out an album this summer its called "Close ya Hands, Now Pump ya Fists". I'm going to release it whether its on my own or with a indie i don't really have a preference at this point. I might put out an EP soon also like in late April just to preview the style im going for with the album. Also i have been working with another producer named Radio Krome starting to put together shows featuring us within the coming months. So be on the lookout for all of this on my page and blog.

2- You also got a blog. Do you think that, that kind of initiative could really help bands to get known ? Is it a compulsory figure ?
Honestly i don't know if it helps ! Recently I've been gaining more notice amongst fans and other artists through other blogs. So i think my blog is just me doing it to do it and talk shit and brag but ehh if someone is reading it, thanks for stopping by leave a comment? Please ?!

3- Your wife and son are pretty represented on your myspace. Is it a family business ?
Not yet ! My wife is what drives me to keep going, i value her opinions and thoughts. She's my biggest supporter and i love her for that. If she's happy, I'm happy and ill keep doing what i do. As far as my son he'll be born by the beginning of April so once he's out you know I'm going to start grooming him to take my place ! My wife plays my music loud near her stomach and he starts jumping around so I'm like fuck yeah!!


4- How do you produce your remixes? Is it on demand or a personal choice ?
Well when i first started i did it by personal choice. My first ever remix was Justice's Valentine and i was just messing around i didn't have any real idea of what i was doing. Now its moving more towards demand. I'm getting alot more requests for remixes but i still do a few here and there by choice cuz i love the song or being a fan of the artists' work.

The fake : We kids

Il est distribué depuis quelques jours comme le dernier single de Justice, rippé sur BBC 1, étalé sur tous les blogs, à notre tour de poser un verdict, sévère, mais on est en forme ce week end.
La voix semble bien être celle de Medhi Pinson déjà présent sur DVNO mais la prod est décevante.
Justice avait regretté l'étiquette pop/gentille collée par D.A.N.C.E, aucune raison pour qu'ils rempilent sur quelque chose de plus mauvais. Néanmoins nous n'avons aucune information sur les gros lapins plein d'imagination à l'origine de ce vaste plaggia, rien sur Myspace non plus malgré nos efforts de fouilles intensives. A voir.
On en profite pour vous jeter leur dernier mix, un extrait de 15min pour le défilé homme Dior printemps/été 2009, ça commence par le très bon "Planisphère."

Totalement à part, parce que c'est week end et qu'il fait beau et doux, on vous offre le dernier remix de Mr Vega et on ressort Sebastian pour l'occasion, parce que ça annonce très bien le printemps.

It's distributed for some days as the last single of Justice, ripped on BBC 1, spread over all the blogs, it's now our turn to put a verdict, severe, but we are in a very good mood this weekend.
The voice seems to be the one of Medhi Pinson, already present on DVNO but the prod is clearly disappointing.
Justice had regretted the pop / kind label stuck by D.A.N.C.E, no reason that they pile up again with something worse. Nevertheless we have no information about the big rabbits height of imagination at the origin of this huge plaggia, anything on Myspace in spite of our extensive searches. Wait & see.

We take advantage of it to throw you their last mix, an extract of 15min for the Dior's fashion show man spring / summer 2009, that begins with the very good "Planisphère".

Comme tu le sais, nous nous sommes offert 10 jours de rêve en terres québécoises.
Non, nous n'avons pas mangé de poutine et n'avons pas non plus traqué le caribou, nous avons bien essayé de chasser quelques bucherons mais l'affaire s 'est revelée plus difficile que prévu. En tout cas, on a testé tout ce que Montreal avait à offrir en ce mois de février et voici nos conseils avisés pour une soirée parfaite. D'abord, vas diner à l'Avenue (922 Av Mont-Royal E) , commandes un « hambourgeois » ou un club sandwich les portions sont pantagruéliques et tu pourras emporter tes restes pour le petit creux de 5h du mat'. Ah et j'allais oublier, vas aux toilettes avant de partir, c'est une expérience en soi, tu manques de mourir à l'entrée et toutes sortes de bruits étranges ponctuent ta visite.Ensuite, vas faire un tour à Laika (4040 Boulevard Saint-Laurent ) un bar electro à la déco 70's , tu peux discuter, de bonnes vibes entrent dans tes oreilles , tu dégustes ton cidre, tu te prépares à une soirée épique. Enfin rends toi impérativement au Coda Social Club(4119 Boulevard St Laurent). Ne te perds pas sur l'immense Boulevard St Laurent, repères bien le numéro. A l'entrée, aucune enseigne, aucun signe d'une quelconque activité, juste un videur, une volée de marches que tu gravis plein d'angoisse puis te voilà dans l'antre. Une salle à l 'étage d'esprit indus', un bar, quelques tables et DU SON, DU SON! La meilleure soirée c'est le vendredi avec l'excellent Duvall et ses invités prestigieux ( Steve Aoki, Diplo, Kid Cudi, Justice, Simion Mobile Disco,LA Riots, sont passés par là) pour « The Fix » :une soirée à boire de la Boréale et à danser comme lors de ta première boom sur une playlist digne des meilleurs club francais en compagnie d'une faune hétéroclite et exotiquement vêtue . Club Coda : « The most fun you can have with your clothes on » ! T'en veux encore? Reviens le lendemain.

As you know, we've spend 10 dream days in Quebec. No, we haven't eaten poutine and we haven't hunted mooses, we've tried to look for woodcutters but it was harder than we expected. Anyway we've experienced everything that Montreal had to offer in this month of February and here are our advices for a perfect night out.
First go eat a bite at L'Avenue (922 Av Mont-Royal E) , order a gigantic "Hambougeois" or a club sandwich, you can still take with you the leftovers for a 5am craving. Oh, and I almost forgot, please go to the washrooms, it's an unique experience; you almost die while entering and your stay is rythmed by odd sounds.
Then, go to Laika(4040 Boulevard Saint-Laurent ), a cool electro bar with a 70's design, you can chat, good vibes go into your ears, you drink your cider and get ready for an epic night out.
Finally, go imperatively to Coda Social Club( (4119 Boulevard St Laurent). Don't get lost on the long Boulevard St Laurent, and have the exact address in mind. At the entrance, no sign, just a bouncer, some steps that you climb full of anxiety and you finally go into the den. A room upstair, a big bar, few table and good music, really good music. The best night is on Friday with Duvall and his guests (Steve Aoki, Diplo, Kid Cudi, Justice, Simion Mobile Disco,LA Riots have been there) for "The Fix": a night spent drinking Boréale and dancing like it is your first boom to a playlist that can keep up with the best French clubs in a wild and exotic crowd. Club Coda: "The most fun you can have with your clothes on". You want more? Come back the day after.

OH NO ONO

Là, c'est un grand moment.
Aujourd'hui on peut plier la boutique. Tu peux nous retourner que le but suprême d'un bon blog electro c'est de reussir à sacrer Crookers et Bloody Beetroots dans la même itw, on s'en fout !
Il y a six mois, (sors ton Kleenex, marque déposée) quand on a commencé cette modeste page, c'était altruistement pour les faire découvrir au mètre carré français qu'on avait sous notre autorité, parce que même si toi français tu ne connais pas encore Oh No Ono, chez eux, au Danemark, c'est pas le groupe le moins connu et le moins cool du pays.
Oh No Ono c'est un peu notre "La Boum" à nous. Leurs chansons ont été chantées très fort quand on a décroché notre première itw, mais aussi quand on a décroché la deuxième, la troisième, quand on a emballé notre première moustache, jetté le dernier accessoire léopard de notre dressing, avant notre premier set et on t'en passe...
La première fois qu'on l'a entendu c'était, parce qu'il faut être précis, un matin, par quelqu'un (qu'on remercie) qui préferait partager la vie d'une mangouste plutôt que de ne pas finir ses jours avec une grande danoise au cheveux blond (le mythe à tuer).
On s'est vexé puis on a écouté leur Album "Yes", en boucle, jusqu'à ce que les paroles soient intégrées sur nos lèvres. Puis même s'il ne nous apparaissait pas que les danoises avaient une aura plus spectaculaire que la nôtre, il s'est clairement averé que leur musique portait vers des nébuleuses qu'on ne connaissait pas ici.
A la grande époque du Paris Paris vous avez peut être déjà eu la chance de les voir, en attendant qu'ils reviennent en France il faudra se déplacer dans leur pays d'origine...
Oh No Ono c'est galactique. Ca n'a pas de qualification, c'est eux, point.
Nous avons également constaté qu'outre leur electro/pop/euphorisante, ils étaient aussi extrêment agréables et on remercie chaleureusement Kristoffer Rom, le fondateur et batteur du groupe pour avoir accepté de passer sur notre petit blog !
Et nous y sommes, trois ans après, notre rêve en poche et le premier extrait de leur nouvel album collé aux moustaches.
Avec "Internet Warrior", ils nous proposent un univers différent, nouveau design pour une mélodies plus sombre, mais toujours avec cette voix si particulière et des envolés qu'on vous met au défis de trouver ailleurs.

Now, it's a big moment.
Today we can "close the shop". You can return us that the supreme purpose of a good electro blog is to manage to crown Crookers and Bloody Beetroots in the same itw, we don't care!
Six months ago, (take out your Kleenex, registered trademark) when we began this modest page, it was selflessly to make them discover to the french square meter that we had under our authority, because even if you, French, you don't know yet Oh No Ono, in Denmark, it is not the least known and the least cool group of the country.
Oh No Ono it's a little our " La Boum " (with Sophie Marceau) to us. Their songs were very hardly sung when we took down our first itw, but also when we took down the second, the third, when we kiss our first mustache, when we thrown away the last leopard's accesory of our dressing, before our first set and we can continue a long time like that...
The first time we heard them it was, because it is necessary to be precise, a morning, by somebody (that we thank) which prefered to share the life of a mongoose rather than not to finish his days with a tall, blond Danish girl (the myth to be killed) !
We were offended and then we listened to their Album " Yes ", in buckle, until the words are integrated on our lips. Then even if it did not seem to us that the Danish girls had a more spectacular glory/halo than ours, it clearly turned out that their music brought towards nebulas which we didn't know here.
In the great times of the "Paris Paris" you maybe already had the luck to see them, but until they return in France it will be necessary to move in their native country...
Oh No Ono it's galactic. That has no qualification, there is no point to describe something which just has to be heard !
We also noticed that besides their electro / pop / euphoriant, they were also extremely pleasant and thank warmly Kristoffer Rom, the founder and the drummer of the band to have agreed to pass on our young blog !
And here we are, three years later, our dream in pocket and the first extract of their new album stuck on the mustache.
With "Internet Warrior", they give us a different universe, a new design for a darker melody, but always with this voice, so particular, and melodies than we put you in challenges to find somewhere else.

1- First why Oh No Ono thats really enigmatic ?
Yes, and that's one of the reasons we chose it! Really, it's just a word play that we like. We have nothing against Yoko Ono. She's made great art over the years and we met her about a year ago... She seemed very nice.

2- Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows ?
We haven't been performing for a while. Our next show is in Copenhagen, Denmark on May 14 and that will be exactly 1 year after our last show. We've been recording new songs for many songs (the next album is released in Denmark on April 20). But we've played lots of places, pretty much all over Europe. It's always a joy to play so no least-favorite venues.. Every venue, city or country is different and yet almost identical when you're touring.
I'd say that we particularly enjoyed playing in Rubaix in France. We played in a tiny cellar but we all agree that it was one of the best and most enjoyable concerts we've played so far.

3- How long have you all known each other ? How did you met ?
We've known each other for 6-7 years. Some of us went to music schools together. 3 of us started playing a bit together but nothing serious. We each moved a lot to other cities but after a couple of years we gendede up in the same city (Aalborg) and discovered that we shared the same musical ideals. From that point it's all been about Oh No Ono for us.

4-When did you form your band ? What inspired you to make music together ?
It was in 2003. Basically we we're bored with the majority of music releases so we wanted to make music that keeps surprising and challenging whoever listens. That's still a big issue for us when we write songs.

5- What do you envy to french poeple ?
Paris in general, your wine tradition, the sheer size of the country, Albert Camus & Brigitte Bardot.

6- What has been your biggest challenge as a band ?
There's always challenges, it's hard to put a finger on the biggest one. I'd say it has been recording and producing the new record and making it as perfect as we wanted to. Luckily and due to 18 months of around the clock-working hours we are convinced that we've succeeded.

7- How is it like to be in a band (girls, whisky, parties, endless nights or scrabble with mummy ?)
Haha, the seemingly always interesting rock 'n roll question.
Being in a band is great, troubling, beautiful, scary, joyful, challenging, embarrassing, easy, important, unimportant, tiring, ecstatic, other-worldly, surprising.. all at the same time.

Electric Youth : Sweet & joyful

Bronwin et Austin sont l'écho canadien parfait des français de chez Valérie.
La voix est d'une clarté et d'une douceur à vous faire revenir le soleil avant l'été et le son est façonné electro pop avec une patte de disco. Tu danses ?
Un duo qui se connait depuis longtemps pour des mélodies sans faille, pourvu qu'ils restent ensemble encore longtemps.
A écouter aussi bien le matin au réveil que le vendredi soir glissant en patins à roulettes sur un sol aux carrés fluorescents.
On avait déjà craqué pour "Faces" dans le CMC vol.4 puis pour "Lying Still" dans le CMC vol.8, on replonge pour "She never came back".
Ils seront en France courant avril, les dates et les lieux ne sont pas encore révélés mais ce qui est sûr c'est qu'on y sera.

Bronwin and Austin are the Canadian perfect echo of the French from the team Valérie.
The voice is bright and a sweet which can make the sunreturn before summer and the sound is shaped like a great electro pop with a tear of disco. You dance?
A duet which has known each other for a long time for melodies without defect, we wish they stay together for a long time.
Listen to it in the morning to wake up and on friday evening sliding in ice skates on a fluorescent skatering.
We had already fallen for "Faces" in the CMC vol.4 then for "Lying Still" in the CMC vol.8, we dive back for " She never came back ".
They will be in France in the course of April, dates and locationss are not revealed yet but it is sure is that we will be there.

1- You're such a talented band, you've got the audience, your hits, all that we miss is an album...

Thanks, well we definitely have an audience that's into the songs right now, but we've really only been in existence as a group since summer, so the larger part of what will grow to be our audience hasn't heard of us yet! Once they have, we'll be able to have hits, and we'll be ready to put out an album. Most of what everyone's heard of us so far, stems from the first four songs we ever did as a group, so we still have a lot more in store!

2- You've worked with the Valerie team, what did it bring to you ?

On a creative level, it's inspiring to be part of a team who understand and appreciate music the way we do. When Austin first discovered Valerie, it was like he found his long lost brother halfway across the world! Then once we started Electric Youth, Raphael (from Minitel Rose) was first to reach out to us, then he introduced us to College and that's how it came to be. On a music level, Minitel Rose remixed 'Replay', and we're on College's album, The Outrunners just remixed that song, and much more will be coming in the future!
3- You've known each other for a very long time now. Never had the ambition to do something alone, more personal ? Have you always have felt the same way about your music ?

For sure, we'd do that if the right situation comes along. Behind the scenes, Austin's always producing and writing for other acts. We've always felt the same about music, but it was about timing, last year is when we started to feel the time is right for something like Electric Youth.

4- How do you write the lyrics ?

It varies, Bronwyn writes most of the lyrics but it varies. Like for example when we wrote 'She Never Came Back' for College's album, we wrote it on Lakeshore Blvd, the waterfront in the west part of Toronto. Other times it's different, like the lyrics for 'Replay' were inspired by how when Austin is into a song he plays it non-stop.
5- Are you planning a tour in Europe ? Where can we find Electric Youth in the mean time ?

We're planning a live/dj set tour in Europe for in the coming months, in the meantime maybe find us in Canada or US (depending on how soon we can sort visas out !).
6- What's best in Toronto ?

Food, our favorite is still Chung King (not Peter's Chung King !) in Chinatown, that closed down and moved to a nearby town called Markham and we love it enough to go there now. Shop, the vintage stores in Kensington are always good. Club, we're not the best to ask since not to many places are consistent, we usually only go out if we know the dj or group is someone who plays what we like. Street, we're not really a part of any particular scene out here so we couldn't say, a lot of people love queen west, we love the beach. Park, we love Kew Gardens, but not right now, it's freezing here !

Tigersapien : Don't be afraid

Loin de nos croquettes Whiskas, il existe un monde où les Tigersapien sont les rois. Leur univers n'est pas très sage et sent plutôt le bar sombre au sol poisseux.
Leur musique, aussi imposante que leur joli crocs ne nous laisse pas le temps de réagir. En effet, leur son à la macho macho men (ne serait ce que pour les vocals) nous ramène modestement à notre statut de gibier et on aime ça !
C'est un mélange de son pénétrant à la X-files New Age et de Rock bien dosé avec en prime des paroles qui te font réfléchir à deux fois avant de sortir la nuit.
N'hésitez pas, fabriquez-vous une énorme tête en papier mâché et partez à la conquête du club le plus proche.
Réveillez l'animal qui est en vous.

Far away from our Whiskas croquettes, there is a world where Tigersapien is king. Their universe is not very wise and smells rather the dark bar with the sticky floor.
Their music, as impressive as their attractive fangs, does not leave us the time to react. Indeed, their macho macho man men sound (just pay attention to the vocals !) returns us modestly to our status of game and we like that!
A mixture of sound while penetrating to X-files New Age and a well measured rock with lyrics that make you think twice before going out at night.
Do not hesitate, make you an enormous paper head chewed and set out to conquer the closest club.

Our advice for this new year: run to the closest Danish embassy, ask for the political asylum, the permanent or assimilated visa because believe us, after listening to this excellent danish artist you are going to want to move straightaway even if that implies to eat smoked herring for breakfast.
Our new electronic chouchou is called B.A.B.Y: an electro squeaky clean and voice perched in the accents of the 80's.

1- Hey B.A.B.Y since when are you djing and composing, what pushed you into that wolrd ?
Well, I started composin music in 1999, back then I was making Big
Beat and Drum and Base sounding music, heavily influenced by artists
like The Prodigy and Chemical Brothers. But I startet the B.A.B.Y
project for about a year ago, wanting to do something new, and beeing
inspired of the rebirth of qality electronic music. I have always had
a big compasion for electronic music, and as i grew up I think it just
came naturally for me to get involved with the club scene.

2- Whats the part of your job you like the most ?
Playing my own material and seeing the crowd go offfff.

3- What can we wish you by now ?
Wish to me come play in France sooon !

4-Any great project running ?
At the moment I'm just doing a couple of remixes and co-producing an
album with an artist called Heidrik. Apart from that, I'm just hittin
it off with playing around and producing my own tracks.

5- Last time you've been drunk ?
Haha last friday to saturday, long night.. was out listening to an
awesome guy called Alexander Robotnick, he playd oldsckool acid house,
it was great! After that I went to this afterparty where we partyed
untill sometime the next day, it was great !
